About Garey House
Garey House is a wedding and special events venue operated by the City of Georgetown Parks and Recreation. Located within Garey Park, a 525-acre public park along the San Gabriel River, the venue occupies a former private estate that was donated to the city by Jack and Cammy Garey in 2004. The estate has been renovated to host both intimate indoor functions and larger outdoor celebrations, preserving the original property's sophisticated character.
The venue blends Texas Hill Country charm with Tuscan-inspired design and features a serene pond, waterfall, and native oak trees. It accommodates events from 2 to 125 guests (up to 200 in the Hall for ceremonies), with approximately 2,000 square feet of combined indoor event space and 7,500 square feet of outdoor event space spread across multiple ceremony and reception locations including the Great Room, Hall, Courtyard, Terrace, Event Lawn, Back Patio, and Meeting Room.
Rental rates range from $1,750 to $5,600 per wedding event. The venue requires full-service approved catering, TABC-certified bartenders, $1 million liability insurance, and security services. Private tours are available by appointment Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, and select weekend group tours are offered.
