About Suga's Cakery
Suga's Cakery is an award-winning custom bakery in Pflugerville's Grand Avenue Shopping Center, run by Patricia Bedford, an electrical engineer turned cake artist. The shop's origin honors Patricia's late grandmother Josephine, nicknamed "Suga", who baked for the family. After Suga passed away, Patricia channeled her grief through cake decorating classes and began baking for family events, launching the business in October 2014 from a home kitchen. The Pflugerville storefront opened in April 2023. Daily counter menu features seven rotating cupcake flavors, Suga Paw cookies, banana pudding, and peach cobbler. Custom orders drive the business: custom cakes, cupcakes, and dessert boxes in conventional and dietary variants (vegan, gluten-friendly, keto, eggless, dairy-free). Award-winning flavors are Strawberry de la Creme and Zesty Citron (Lemon), which took first place in their categories plus Grand Champion at Williamson County Fair & Rodeo 2021. Patricia is also Vice President of Pflugerville Black Business Builders, and the bakery was featured as Texas's representative business in Google's Economic Impact Report.

What are your most popular flavors?
Strawberry de la Creme and Zesty Citron (Lemon) are award-winning standouts-they won 1st place in their respective categories at Williamson County Fair & Rodeo 2021. Strawberry de la Creme uses real strawberry. Both are available as cupcakes and custom cakes.
What should I bring to a wedding cake consultation?
Bring pictures or inspiration pieces (lace, ribbons, fabric swatches), your desired colors, your guest count, and your budget. Patricia will work with you to design the cake and discuss flavor options, including any dietary needs.
Can I order partially vegan or partially gluten-free?

Do you do donations or discounts for nonprofits?
Suga's supports worthy causes but has limits. You must be an existing customer before they'll donate to a cause, unless it's a personal cause of Patricia's. Contact the shop directly to discuss.
