Rec's Hushpuppie Heaven is a cozy, veteran-owned, black-owned neighborhood restaurant in Pflugerville celebrating great food and community. Chef Kenneth Rector Jr., who trained in the Navy's culinary program and honed his skills in various restaurants and catering venues, opened Rec's Catering in 2005 and expanded the concept in 2013 with signature stuffed hushpuppies. Everything is made hot and fresh, from the signature brisket-stuffed hushpuppies to fresh catfish and other comfort-food favorites.
